Day: Tuesday

Time: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

First Class: March 20, 2012

Last Class: March 20, 2012

Class Dates: March 20, 2012

Number of Classes: 1

Instructor: Christy Walters

Cost: $20 per class ($20 total)

Details & Registration

Join Christy in knitting the Ruffle Scarf, a free pattern which looks fancy, but is actually delightfully simple to make. This pattern looks beautiful and cozy when knit with Noro Silk Garden and Artyarns Serenade held together, as pictured, but is easily adapted to different fibers and weights of yarn. This class is perfect for recent graduates of a Beginning Knitting class, as it assumes knowledge of cast-on, knit stitch, and bind off. Christy will teach the short-row method that creates the ruffles and then you'll be off and knitting! You'll need ~220 yards of yarn for the scarf and needles to suit the weight of the yarn. If you plan to hold two together, you'll need ~220 yards of each. Materials are available for purchase at the shop. To ensure your registration, please prepay either by credit card over the phone, sending a check, or just coming by the shop. Thanks!

Drop Stitch Scarf (2 spaces left)

First Class: January 8, 2012

Instructor: Amy Wentley

Details & Registration

Experience level: Beginner (know how to knit and purl). Description: Usually dropping stitches is a bad thing, but sometimes it can achieve stunning results. Join Amy to learn about the Sea Foam stitch pattern to complete the Drop Stitch Scarf by Christine Vogel. Amy will also introduce other drop stitch patterns and talk about designing scarfs. Materials required include one skein of a smooth DK or worsted weight yarn (variegated or hand-painted, hand-dyed yarns yield interesting results; light colors are preferable so that you can see your stitches easily; no bumps or beads), straight or circular needles sized appropriately for your yarn (size 7 or 8 should work well), and a darning needle - all of which are available for purchase at the shop. To ensure your space in the class, please prepay when you register. You can call us to prepay by credit card over the phone, send a check, or just come by the shop, where you can see a sample of the Drop Stitch Scarf in person.
